At Fortem Financial Management, we are committed in giving back to the community anyway we can. It is greatly important to us as it not only improves society and the lives of those around us, but it also makes us better people. It allows us to broaden our worldview, learn about how the world works, and grow as a people. Giving back boosts team morale, builds an inspired team and promotes a happy and fun environment. We strongly believe it creates feelings of gratitude and encourages a culture of giving.
We are incredibly passionate about visiting local schools to provide fun financial education to our next generation. As well as schools and colleges, we also ensure to dedicate time to visit local businesses, where we talk all things financial from retirement planning and investment planning, to tax planning and protection and more. We try to keep the sessions as interactive as possible, and we are always looking at ways to how we can donate more time out to local schools, businesses, churches, and community centres. Our Managing Partner, Kevin White, is currently a trustee at a local school in the surrounding Basingstoke area, offering his financial knowledge. He took this voluntary role back in 2021 as the school finance director and is doing a superb job! Kevin recognises that our future generation are our children, and our children need to be better educated. In 2023, we were pleased to accept the ‘Business in the Community’ Award at the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Inspire Awards for our services to financial education within the local community.
Here at Fortem, we think it is important to support local grass roots sports to ensure these are a permanent fixture in the community.
We have a history of supporting local sporting initiatives and have taken an active part in Basingstoke Town Community Football Club, Basingstoke Rugby Club and we are the current sponsors of Basingstoke Rugby under 13’. Not only is it important for adults to have an escape and the access to these sports, but also for children where they can meet new friends, socialise, and experience teamwork through play.
Donations – Each Christmas, Fortem decides instead of sending Christmas Cards out to our clients, that we make a charity donation. We have supported many with the intentions of supporting more. To name but a few are- Camrose homeless shelter., the Pink Place (a cancer support charity) and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air ambulance. Most charities rely heavily on public donations to enable them to stay open and do the life changing work they do! This is just one example of our team donating to something close to our hearts.
Environment – Like most businesses, protecting and caring for the environment wherever we can is one of our top priorities. Recycling, using bamboo pens are just a few examples of us doing our bit
